Reiki & CDIM for INVC
/This was a first, to offer Reiki while Clara Takarabe was playing CDIM (Clinically Designed Improvisational Music) with her viola.
Favorite feedback:
"I saw the flier and it said this will help pain. I didn’t believe it. I do now. My back has no pain. When are you coming back? I won’t miss this again.”
Like Reiki, CDIM has been shown to increase alpha brainwaves which are indicative of a calmer, more meditative nervous system.
The Institute for Nonviolence Chicago includes violence interrupters, men who know when tempers are flaring in the streets and put themselves in harm’s way to prevent bloodshed.
We offered six, 20-minute rounds of Reiki/CDIM and were able to introduce more than 30 people to this new experience.
We Reiki folk were also positively impacted by the CDIM during our sessions. It was a healing event for all.
We collected Before and After data from the 22 people receiving Reiki and CDIM (some were CDIM only due to logistics), and here are the numbers and some of the more descriptive post-session comments. It’s always a pleasure to witness this transformation.
Thanks to INVC for having us, and to Madeline, Clara, Monique, and Sophie. Here’s to many more collaborations!
