Reiki for Chicago Public Schools Social Workers

We loved hearing that CPS was hosting a Healing-Centered Conference for their social workers and Social Emotional Learning specialists. We also loved being invited to offer Reiki to the attendees. We provided 61 sessions over three days to those new to Reiki, and to those familiar and thrilled to see it offered at this event.

Reiki can help people experience their fundamental energetic and spiritual nature, and realize wellness isn’t all about the physical body.

If we want kids to have positive experiences at school, we need to prioritize wellness for their caretakers. Kudos to CPS for hosting this event. Here’s to many more!

In order to share Reiki with more people, you first have to educate people as to its existence and benefits. During this conference, we educated educators.

End goal: Reiki services in every school during all school hours. Exam stress? Bullying? Trouble at home? Reiki can help students stay present and enhance their ability to learn, despite these common stressors. Check out the feedback below.

We had a great turnout of volunteers—thank goodness! Thanks to Monique, Ebony, Suzanne, Barbara, Mary Lynn, Julie, and newbies: Beth, Elizabeth, and Alex! It was a wonderful event and CPS (and the world) are better for it. (Apologies to Ebony and Monique for failing to get a group photo on Day 2.)
