Reiki @ SOS Children's Villages for Juneteenth

The SOS Children’s Villages provide a unique model for childcare. Wards of the state are put into villages with individual foster caregivers surrounded by a community of the same, as well as a strong support system. Every child we saw looked confident and happy. It was wonderful! And it was wonderful to support staff, caregivers and a couple kids with Reiki sessions.

Unfortunately, we tend to habituate to stress. Wellness isn’t just reduction of dis-ease, it’s an abundance of peace and joy. Everyone could use more of that, and Reiki can help provide it.

In and amongst the games, bouncy castle, DJ, and food, we were able to give Reiki to 19 attendees. See their feedback below.

We love that this is a holiday now, and these gatherings can take place more easily. This org had a sense of humor about it. Truer words…

As always, the feedback was heart-warming. The theme on this day seemed to be metaphysical experiences. Two recipients felt spiritual support in the form of healing hands—which is not unusual, and one saw colors, which is known as clairvoyance. Thanks SOS!
