Reiki at Deerfield PD

You wouldn’t think much would be going on in the quaint Village 40 mins north of Chicago, but it was a big day, and our services were very appreciated. Three years ago, one town over, several people were murdered during mass shooting at the Highland Park 4th of July parade. The day of our visit, victim impact statements were being heard. One of our volunteers, Sonya, was at that parade with her children that day, and knows people who lost loved ones.
And as we were pulling up, there was an event happening right in Deerfield that involved the response of several neighboring police and fire departments and a SWAT team. It was a tense day for everyone at the Village, and we were happy to support them.
