We love this neighborhood event put on by Boxing Out Negativity.

The North Lawndale neighborhood has historically offered fewer resources and opportunities to those who grow up here. Organizations have sprouted up to bring about positive change, and we have been grateful to collaborate with some of them.

We started out with an unexpected burst of rain, and found refuge with our new friends under the Riotfest tent.

There’s a fantastic community festival vibe at Street Love, with lots of kids, music, snow cones and Reiki.

We love hearing that people felt spiritual support during their Reiki sessions. They can take that experience and knowledge into their lives going forward.

Thanks Jana and Mario for coming out with me today, and to Boxing Out Negativity for putting on such a wonderful event that brings people together.
