Serving our veterans was a new experience for several of our volunteers this past Stand Down. We heard some great war stories and received some incredible feedback. They took it all in.

We store trauma in our bodies energetically, and reiki helps move it out. Sometimes this process is very tangible, to the surprise and delight of the recipient.

We’re always happy to help support the CPD with reiki sessions, even moreso now that stress levels are up and days off are down. Thanks to the 8th for inviting the Reiki Brigade back to serve those who serve.

Arrupe College is Loyola University’s sister campus. We were happy to help spread some reiki love amongst students and faculty at their annual wellness fair. Responses to the sessions were candid, as they frequently are with younger folks.

Students were stressed after mid-terms, and they lined up for reiki! We worked with 52 attendees and captured their post-session comments.

Gateway to Learning does incredible work providing lifelong learning for adults with intellectual challenges and developmental disabilities. We were thrilled to support them with reiki sessions.

A group of 500 new CPD recruits are training at the West Loop Academy, and self-care is part of the program. The Reiki Brigade offered reiki sessions to instructors and recruits. It was a welcome break in the action.

Chicago police officers receive ongoing training at a facility on the south side. Instructors there teach everything from how to respond to calls during a power outage (no light), to de-escalation of Use of Force.

So honored to be a guest on Torsten Lange's Youtube broadcast, The Reiki Revolution. He shares our passion for helping to make reiki available to everyone everywhere, and part of that is encouraging other reiki folks to conduct outreach. Thanks for letting me share our experiences with your audience.

In the criminal justice system, sexually based offenses are considered especially heinous. In Chicago, the dedicated detectives who investigate these vicious felonies received reiki to help them manage on-the-job stress. These are their session outcomes. Thanks to the CPD for their receptivity to reiki.

It felt great to be back offering reiki to veterans at the Jesse Brown VA Stand Down! We started our outreach here more than a decade ago and the two years off (thanks to Covid) was rough.

An enthusiastic crowd made Bike Out Negativity a huge success—despite the rainy start! We offered reiki to a receptive crowd and received wonderful feedback in return. We look forward to the Street Love Ride in August!

“You’re welcome back anytime!” we were told on our way out. Thanks to the 8th District for welcoming the Reiki Brigade and encouraging officers to explore new means of self care. It’s a tough job and healthy cops are in everyone’s best interest.

A new volunteer (Jana) and a new collaboration (Build, Inc.) made for a fantastic Reiki Brigade event on Friday.

We were thrilled to offer reiki as part of the Black History Month service fair at Michele Clark High School.

We’re always happy to help support the CPD with reiki sessions, even moreso now that stress levels are up and days off are down. Thanks to the 20th for letting us help officers let go of stress.

The current climate is especially stressful for Chicago Police officers. We all know more stress = more mistakes. We’re honored to share some reiki love with these officers, and help them have all our backs.

We love introducing reiki to Western healthcare workers, and especially grateful to connect with this group who have worked so hard this past year saving lives.
